Persistent worlds create stories because the map and other players keep moving. The same design can also turn a game into a schedule.

Check the timer rhythm

Find out whether useful decisions happen every few minutes, every few hours, or once per day. Choose a rhythm that matches your life.

Ask what the alliance expects

Some groups are relaxed; others require event attendance, contributions, or fast responses. The social contract matters as much as combat.

Understand loss and protection

Learn what another player can take, what shields protect, and whether a missed login can erase meaningful progress.

Identify paid acceleration

When time is a resource, spending can become an arms race. Decide whether patience remains a viable strategy on the server you join.
