Arknights: Endfield is expanding its reach. Hypergryph has confirmed that its 3D strategy RPG is coming to Steam, adding another PC storefront to a game that launched globally on January 22, 2026. The announcement arrived alongside details for Version 1.5, "Dreamscape of Wind and Snow," which rolls out in September with a new map, playable characters and free rewards.
For a game that cleared 30 million pre-registrations before launch, the Steam move is a logical step. Endfield first arrived on PlayStation 5, iOS, Android and PC via the Epic Games Store, and the new listing opens the door to Steam's much larger PC audience.
What Version 1.5 adds
The "Dreamscape of Wind and Snow" update is scheduled for September 2, 2026 (UTC+8), and it leans on nostalgia for players of the original Arknights.
Headlining the patch is Typhoeus, an Operator familiar to longtime fans, who joins the roster as the story pushes the Endministrator into a supernatural Snowy Forest. The update introduces a new explorable region built around Suiming, which players navigate through a repeating time-loop mechanic rather than a straightforward linear path.
Here is what the update brings to the table:
- Typhoeus, a returning Arknights Operator, added as a playable character
- A new Snowy Forest region tied to the main narrative
- A time-loop system for exploring Suiming
- Purrchena, an Operator players can recruit for free during the update
The free Operator is the kind of goodwill gesture live-service games use to keep newer commanders invested, and it lands right as the Steam version brings fresh eyes to the game.
